Inevitably, your ERP implementation efforts will result in requests for customization of the system, either to make it operate more like the system(s) it is replacing or to enable an existing business process. Both scenarios should be expected—and resisted. In this article, Ajay Gupta presents a rational for avoiding all customizations to ERP systems in their early stages, and at best postponing such customization decisions until later in the life cycle.
