DSL Installation introduces the student to the basic operations of the telephone network, digital subscriber time (DSL) technology, today’s computer hardware and software, and the Internet. The course describes the procedures for installing twisted-pair inside wiring and connecting the premises to the phone network. It also details the proper use and maintenance of installation tools and the process of installing internal and external DSL modems. In addition, DSL customer service is addressed, providing customer service techniques and tips and showing the installer how to help new customers get the most out of their DSL services and the Internet.
